01 — Experience
Most learning technology is built by people who have never been on the receiving end of it. I began in data operations, moved into HR leadership, and only then into platform engineering, and that route is the argument: learning technology is built better when the person building it understands the work, constraints and expectations of the people using it.
2021 — Present
Digital consultancy for national institutions and European projects: web platforms, custom software including AI chatbots, and digital communications. Lately the focus has widened from platforms to workflows — low-code and agentic-AI automation for practitioner-led work, presented internationally for organisations and institutions like ICN, ENC, WHO, RCSI - Dublin and SEEHN.
2018 — Present
Digital-learning company building, hosting and administering a Moodle platform portfolio of 15+ instances for education, professional-development and public-sector organisations across more than 10 countries. I build the courses from subject-matter-expert material in Articulate Storyline 360 and Rise 360, package them as SCORM, deploy them, and then operate the platforms end to end.
2018 — 2020
Advised four EU-funded e-learning projects (Erasmus+ KA1/KA2): analysed learning needs, recommended implementation approaches and trained development teams.
2015 — 2019
Promoted from data operations into branch HR leadership: recruitment, performance appraisals and training-needs analysis for a large membership organisation — and a daily view of how much time professionals lose to systems designed around institutions rather than the people expected to use them. The organisational grounding for the platform work that followed.

Maintained the accuracy, confidentiality and integrity of membership records; built database queries, forms and reports.
